Planning for Live Music

An example of a course originally developed as a bespoke training request for a council, this is a session for statutory planning teams regarding the planning framework for live music. It is intended as a refresher to help statutory planners meet their obligations in managing and protecting live music venues. It explores the challenges and tensions inherent in this issue.

Material covered includes:

  • The origins and operation of the agent of change principle.
  • The tangle of jurisdictions affecting live music, and the role planning plays in this system.
  • Council’s obligations in assessing applications, notably in relation to clause 53.06.
  • Approaches to planning conditions, application management, and information requests.

Excellent and thought provoking which is what we were going for!
